The latest on the COVIDSET 2009.

As we approach the conference dates, arrangements and interest in the conference have picked up significantly.  There are now 147 registered participants including several; Vice- chancellors from all geographic regions of the continent.  Registered also are representatives of international organisations who have expressed interest in participation.

The ANSTI Secretariat has also introduced three important parallel events which will be of great importance for Science and technology education in Africa .  These include: promotion of e-learning for teaching and Research in Science Engineering and Technology; the mainstreaming of HIV/AIDS in science and engineering curricula; and the Use of Diaspora Scientists in teaching and collaborative research in Africa.

For those who require alternative accommodation, the organisers have also put in place arrangements with Sheraton and Protea Hotels, both five star and University guest (low budget).  Please contact Mrs. Matemu m.matemu@unesco.org  or visit the conference website http://ansticonference.unon.org for more details.

Within the next two weeks we shall inform all those who have applied for sponsorship on the outcome of their application.
